The formation process of the quenching furnace mainly includes the following steps:
Heating stage: Put the workpiece into the quenching furnace, heat it to the quenching temperature above the critical point and keep it for a period of time. The heat source of the furnace can be electricity, fuel, etc. The temperature can be measured by thermocouples and can be automatically controlled and adjusted by instruments.
Insulation stage: After reaching the predetermined temperature, the workpiece needs to be kept in the furnace for a period of time to ensure uniform heating. This stage is crucial to obtain the ideal quenching effect.
Quenching stage: The heated workpiece is quickly taken out of the furnace and put into the quenching medium (such as water, oil or other inorganic salts, organic aqueous solutions) for rapid cooling. This process can make the workpiece reach the required hardness and strength.
Tempering stage: In order to reduce the brittleness of the workpiece, the quenched workpiece needs to be kept warm for a long time at an appropriate temperature above room temperature but below 650℃, and then cooled. This process is called tempering and is usually used in conjunction with quenching.
Structure and principle of quenching furnace:
Quenching furnace is mainly composed of furnace body, furnace door, heating element, ventilation mechanism and control system. The furnace body is usually welded by steel and steel plate, and the inner wall is connected to the furnace shell as a whole by stainless steel plate, and the interlayer is filled with aluminum silicate refractory fiber for heat insulation. The furnace door is designed at the bottom of the furnace body, and the entry and exit of the workpiece is completed by mechanical transmission. The heating element adopts a resistance belt of high-resistance alloy, and the fan consists of a blower and a wind guide plate to ensure that the heating element works under ventilation circulation. The control system uses thyristor, digital display, etc. to control and alarm the temperature.
Application field of quenching furnace:
Quenching furnace is widely used in various metal processing industries, especially in the production of aluminum alloy pipe and bar profile extrusion products. For example, vertical quenching furnace is often used for quenching aluminum alloy extruded products. It has the characteristics of simple operation and fast heating speed, and is suitable for small and medium-sized aluminum processing plants.
