Principle of Spheroidizing Annealing
The spheroidizing annealing furnace achieves spheroidization through three key steps:
(1) Heating to near the Ac1 temperature
This allows the lamellar cementite in the pearlite to begin to relax and decompose.
(2) Holding at the critical temperature
Maintaining the temperature near Ac1 for several hours allows the cementite to gradually spheroidize.
(3) Slow cooling
Slow cooling in the furnace allows for the stable formation of spherical carbides and a uniform microstructure.
The entire process requires precise furnace temperature control, a stable atmosphere, and strong convection; otherwise, spheroidization can be uneven. This is the important value of the spheroidizing annealing furnace.

Custom Spheroidizing Annealing Furnace Application
The spheroidizing annealing furnace is suitable for all high-carbon steel series that require improved machinability:
● Bearing steel (GCr15, etc.)
● High-carbon tool steel (T8/T10)
● Cold work die steel (Cr12, Cr12MoV)
● Cold heading steel, spring steel
● Wire rod, steel wire, steel strip
● Tool and mold blanks
● High-carbon bars and forgings
The entire process requires precise furnace temperature control, a stable atmosphere, and strong convection; otherwise, spheroidization can be uneven. This is the important value of the spheroidizing annealing furnace.
